Gary J. Tunnicliffe   
aka 'The Hollywood Assassin' 

Born and Raised in Staffordshire in the UK, obsessed with film as a child, sang and acted from an early age and was offered several opportunities to pursue drama school,  but instead opted to 'self teach' himself the burgeoning field of special make up effects in the late 1980's

Worked as make up effects artist/supervisor for 3 years at Pinewood Studios ( @ Bob Keen's Image Animation) before moving to Los Angeles at age 24 to start a new make up fx company.

Two Hours in the Dark Inc  operated in the San Fernando Valley for almost 20 years, in a 4000 sq ft facility with (at times) over 20 crew, working on over 100 feature films including some of the most famous horror franchises including Hellraiser, Candyman, Exorcist, Scream, Halloween, Mimic, Dracula, Pulse, Prophecy, Feast, the Collector, Children of the Corn, , Wishmaster  and Pumpkinhead  etc 

At age 26 Tunnicliffe wrote and directed his first feature film  'Within The Rock' (Saturn award nominee) for producer/actor Robert Patrick. (Terminator 2, Walk the Line) since then he has  directed actors including James Earl Jones, Chevy Chase, Christopher Lloyd, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lynne Redgrave, Dakota Fanning, Howie Mandel, Wallace Shawn, Delta Burke and Heather Langenkamp, has  worked with directors such as  David Fincher, Clive Barker,  Tim Burton, Renny Harlin, Joe Dante. Patrick Lussier, Wes Craven, Stephen Norrington and Scott Derrickson  AND closely with actors including  Robert DeNiro, John Travolta, Gerard Butler, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Plummer, Malcolm McDowell, Christian Slater, Robert Patrick,  Henry Cavill, Isabella Scorrupco and William Fichtner

Wrote and directed HELLRAISER JUDGMENT  (2018) a film that was praised for it's tone, visual style and imagery, cited as one of (if not) the best sequels to the original film with many in awe of what was achieved with such a meager budget with critics (and fans) wondering aloud what this director could do with some money. 

Semi retired 2017, he now shares his time between LA, Bucharest and the United Kingdom.

Has since worked for friend and Director Patrick Lussier on 'Play Dead' starring Jerry O Connel and Bailey Madison for Voltage Pictures / Tubi  ( released 2023)

Designed make up effects for Director Jordon Foss's directorial debut  'Black Spines'

Set to work again in 2023 with long time collaborator Patrick Lussier  on a new feature film project 'BLACK BOX'

Is also currently developing a new writing / directing project the horror comedy 'QT and The Goth'
